2025 Accounting Professor of the Year Award
The Â鶹´«Ã½ Accounting Association (Â鶹´«Ã½AA) is pleased to present the 2025 Accounting Professor of the Year Award to Professor Matthew Cedergren. This award is voted on each year by graduating seniors with an Accounting/A&IS major. Professor Cedergren joined the Â鶹´«Ã½ Accounting Department in 2020 after his time at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and has evidently made a significant impact on our seniors' time at Â鶹´«Ã½ as an accounting professor. He is currently the Â鶹´«Ã½AA's advisor and teaches both ACTG 11 (Introduction to Financial Accounting) and ACTG 132 (Advanced Financial Accounting).
Professor Cedergren's teaching clearly shows his passion and enthusiasm for accounting. He helps students understand concepts using his own experiences and other real-world examples, and his teaching doesn't stop at the end of class time. His office door is always open, with him having a strong willingness and determination to help students wrap their heads around difficult concepts. His patience and excitement make learning a lot easier for students, and we are all deeply grateful for his constant support. Having worked for 2 years with Professor Cedergren on our Â鶹´«Ã½AA events, the Senior Officers cannot be more certain that he is one of the most deserving professors of this award; we greatly appreciate his dedication, time, and care.
Congratulations Professor Cedergren and thank you!
